The Bronx Church: Mission Focused
Missions have always been at the forefront of the Bronx Church’s ministry endeavors. This may be due to at least two factors. 1) The Church of God of Prophecy as a whole has always had a strong mission focus. This is made evident by the fact that we have organized churches in nearly 130 countries. 2) The Bronx Church has always been conscious of this heritage. Thus, our local church evolves as a diverse congregation. Our congregation is made up of people from more than 20 different nations. So, there is a natural affinity to missions; a sense of obligation, if you will, to reach “the regions beyond” with the gospel, and to meet the needs of the indigent.
Our mission endeavors have evolved from sending money to sending mission teams. We continue to send money but we now also send short-term missionaries from our local church. We have supported special projects in Kenya, Rwanda, Uganda, Equatorial Guinea, Liberia, India, Haiti, Guyana, Bermuda, The Leeward Islands – Dominica, St. Maarten, and the Windward Islands – Barbados. Sierra Leone is our latest country of interest.
