FAQs
Chase QuickPay is an online service that allows you to send money to and receive funds from virtually anyone with an e-mail address who’s enrolled in the service. It’s fast, convenient and secure, and it’s easy to get started – all you need is a valid e-mail address and U.S. bank account.
Yes. You can use Chase QuickPay to send and receive money at no charge.
No. As long as you have a valid e-mail address, you can create a Chase QuickPay profile to send and receive money. Simply register your Chase checking account or a checking or savings account you have with any other U.S. bank and send money to your recipient. We’ll coordinate the direct transfer between banks – without any cost to you.
Note: If you’re using a non-Chase checking account for Chase QuickPay, you won’t be able to accept payments from other users who also want to send and receive funds using non-Chase accounts. At least one of the accounts in the requested payment (either the sender or the recipient) must be a Chase checking account.
Of course, being a Chase customer has advantages. For example, only Chase customers can use the service to request money from others. And, by enrolling in both Chase QuickPay and Chase Online Invoicing, our Business Banking customers can send detailed invoices to their clients; request payments; and receive payments directly to their Chase account – all online.
Enrollment is simple and secure. First, you’ll need to create your Chase online profile and confirm that you own the e-mail address and bank account you want to use with this service.
- If you’re a Chase customer with an active online profile, please enroll in Chase QuickPay:
- Go to www.Chase.com/QuickPay and log on with your Chase User ID and Password
- Select and verify your preferred e-mail address
- Read and accept the Chase QuickPay Legal Agreement terms and conditions
- Select the valid Chase account you want to use with this service
- Start using Chase QuickPay to send and receive money
- If you’re a Chase customer but you don’t have an active profile, please:
- Go to www.Chase.com to get a User ID and enroll in Chase Online
- Then, follow the steps above for Chase customers to activate Chase QuickPay.
- If you’re not a Chase customer, please create a Chase profile and enroll in Chase QuickPay:
- Click the enrollment option on www.Chase.com/QuickPay
- Create a User ID and Password
- Select and verify your primary e-mail address
- Read and accept the required legal terms including the Chase QuickPay Service Agreement terms and conditions
- Add and validate the external bank account you want to use with this service
- Start using Chase QuickPay to send and receive money
During and after enrollment, please check your e-mail account to make sure your Chase QuickPay notifications reach your inbox (and are not blocked). Otherwise, you may not be able to complete enrollment, begin accepting money, and start receiving notifications about your Chase QuickPay activity.
Once you’ve activated your Chase QuickPay profile, you can return to Chase QuickPay anytime either online or using Chase Mobile
With Chase QuickPay, it’s easier than ever to exchange money with friends and peers. Once you’ve logged on to Chase QuickPay, you can send or accept payments directly online. You can even schedule repeating payments that get e-mailed weekly, monthly or at another frequency you determine. You also can manage your profile, add new payees and see your Chase QuickPay history. For example, you can:
- Ask your friends to pay you through Chase QuickPay
- Pay invoices you’ve received from a business using Chase Online Invoicing
- Send money to your children in college
- Schedule six monthly payments to your brother to pay back that loan
- Pay your baby-sitter or neighborhood lawn service
- Collect money for your parents’ surprise wedding anniversary party
- Invite your friends to join Chase QuickPay
To accept money, simply log on to your Chase QuickPay profile and click “Accept Money.”
Note: Recipient must be enrolled in the Chase QuickPay service to accept payments.
The recipient must accept the payment before the funds will be withdrawn from the Pay From account.
- Payments between Chase accounts: The cutoff time to accept payments between Chase accounts is 10 PM ET on any business day. For payments between Chase accounts, funds will generally be available the next business day or sooner if the recipient accepts the payment before the cutoff time. If the recipient accepts the payment after the cutoff time, or on any non-business day, it may take up to two business days after acceptance for funds to be available.
- Funds will be immediately available if the recipient accepts a transfer between Chase Accounts in a maximum amount of $500 or less (and $500 or less in the aggregate for all Chase QuickPay transfers for the day) before the cutoff time.
- If the recipient accepts a transfer between Chase Accounts in a maximum amount of $500 or less (and $500 or less in the aggregate for all Chase QuickPay transfers for the day) after the cutoff time, or on any non-business day, funds will be available for immediate cash withdrawal at ATMs and for online transactions, but they will not be available to pay off-line payments such as checks until the next business day.
- Payments between a Chase account and a non-Chase account: The cutoff time to accept payments between a Chase account and a non-Chase account is 8 PM ET on any business day. For payment from a Chase account to an external account, the payment should typically be completed one to two business days after the business day that recipient accepts, subject to the processing times of the financial institution holding the external account. For payments from an external account to a Chase account, the payment transfer should typically be completed in four to five business days after the business day that recipient accepts, subject to the processing times of the financial institution holding the external account.
Your security matters to Chase, and we use a variety of advanced technology to make sure our products and services remain secure. We work hard to help ensure your account information stays secure.
We’ve taken additional steps to help protect you. When you use Chase QuickPay, you won’t need to know or provide your recipients’ (e.g. friends’ or customers’) financial information – like account or Social Security Numbers. Plus, you won’t need to wait for physical checks in the mail or worry about your money sitting anywhere other than your own bank account.
